CREATURE CONCEPT

You're average scavenger that helps you along the way. I understand that we should stay away from fur so I decided to use it's skin texture like the naked sphnx cat as shown.

My second option would be a fish warrior. I would make a hybrid between the two Fish Men.

I would like to keep the stubby arms of the first one but combine the giant finn and colors of the second one. I wouldn't add too much clothing and focus more on the armor just so i can mess
around the metal textures in zbrush.

So far I've gotten the main concept of my creature down. In order to make it look menacing I added bloder and bigger features in the front of the face like a bullfrog to keep with the aquatic theme.

In order to get the basic shape of my character we used Zpheres to mimic my creature's pose. Frank suggested to have the arms relaxed and dangled.

After getting the topology down it was time to smooth out the zpheres and add features.I started to add some muscles into the arms and biceps and add details around that area as well as the face.

I wasn't happy with the size of the head so there was a lot of manipulating and transforming around that area to get it closer to the concept art. I started to add details to the paints but after learning about extract I think I'll be using that method to make it into its own tool.

I'm liking the way his throat is turning out. I really need to focus on his arms and muscles, before I start adding his giant koi fins onto his back. I'll be making that a seperate piece along like his tusks.

I might revert his arms back to the way the concept art is drawn, just because coming up with the poses and proportions from this side is just becoming to difficult to sculpt and not sure how to make it more realistic.

STYLIZED CHARACTER

For this project I wanted to use an original character of mine for the stylized character project, Galaxy Gal! She's a simple design that would be easy to handle of my caliber. I like the idea of doing a human that I could rig in the future, while following up my character design.

I intend do follow this form of sculpting style for my character. Depending on time management I would add assets along the way.

Using this style will give it the clean, soft, yet animated look towards my character.

My second idea is do recreate the iconic character from A Goofy Movie. To stand out from among the crowd.

Powerline! His design seems easy enough to do, just because his clothes are mostly skin tight. I think the difficult part would be mimicking his crazy curled hair. Other than that he's make a fun choice to do unless modeling fanart is not allowed.

Stylized Character

Here's a better concept art of my character. I decided to giver her a helmet to giver more personality and a sense of space.

Here is my progress so far. I've been somewhat following the tutorial, not really, but I should really start. I wanted to get into my own grove of sculpting just like the tutorial guys would but it doesn't seem to be working. I might end up mirroring the other half.

I noticed that my symmetry was off from the beginning so I cant use that tool anywhere so I am thinking of redoing the whole body.

BLOG 4

After starting from scratch again I properly got a better feel for the body groups and made sure to keep my symmetry on all the time. I felt better with my anatomy as I was following the tutorials and keeping consistent with different types of zbrush speed tutorials to get the style I want for my character. Here I have the only image of my build from the back. I want a slight hour class figure. I'll be moving the poses of her legs once I have the arms done.

I need to hurry up and start my arms and face. I'll be modeling this week for I have a lot of homework to do.
The next few days, I went to town on my full body while keeping my poly count low because a lot of my polys will go towards her outfit. I use the Zmesher religiously to keep my polys nice and tidy so when I go to topologize it'll be easier. I also wanted a T-pose just because from last time it was hard to cut out body parts when uving for my textures for the creature, so I made sure to learn from my mistakes with my character.  I have yet to do the arms...

Then  time goes by!!

Here is a close up of her face. From my reference She has pretty big eyes, but I'm not trying to make her full anime eyes. I found a great tutorial for the mouth because I had a tough time from last project.
